A cat, a kind review & our favourite treatment

We’re racing through May (how did that happen?), and with a bit of luck, the sunshine will stick around to continue to lift our spirits. It really does make a difference doesn’t it? (just don’t forget your SPF skincare – sorry, I just can’t help it as it is so important!)

We love receiving kind reviews, they mean the world to us, especially as we take so much care to make sure the salon is always a calm and welcoming space for you. But every so often, a review pops up that really makes us smile and so I hope you don’t mind me sharing.

Last week, we had an unexpected visitor, an injured cat who decided our garden was the perfect hiding spot. Cue a surprise mission involving a grateful owner, a vet, and me dashing through the salon mid-treatment to help rescue the poor thing. It’s not every day a cat-related crisis turns into a five-star Google review, but here we are, a first in my 20-odd years of salon life!

Huge thanks to my lovely client for being so understanding , and to David, the cat’s owner, who left this gem of a Google review:

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
“Lucy is an amazing and wonderful person! My injured cat needed rescuing from the Icon garden, and she was happy to let the vet and me through to look for it whilst treating a client. I am so grateful to you and your client for allowing the interruption, it was very much appreciated!”
Anyway, from unexpected garden visitors to planned pampering, let’s talk about this month’s favourite treatment…

Treatment of the Month ✨
If you’ve not tried it yet, now’s the perfect time to book in for our Back, Neck & Shoulder Massage with Holistic Mini Facial, a much-loved, gorgeous treatment, and a well-deserved treat for both body and mind.
Blending two of our most calming services, this 60-minute experience begins with a short consultation so everything is tailored just for you. You’ll then sink into a deeply soothing back, neck, and shoulder massage, followed by a nourishing Neal’s Yard Remedies facial using beautiful, skin-loving ingredients chosen to suit your skin type. A gentle scalp and neck massage is the ultimate finishing touch to leave you feeling deeply relaxed.
Camilla and Alice are both offering this treatment, and we’ve already had some wonderful feedback. It’s truly wonderful and leaves you glowing, zenned out and restored!

And while we’re on the subject of favourites, I thought I’d share mine…

My Favourite Treatment🖤
If I were to pick just one treatment I never miss, it has to be a pedicure. There’s something so relaxing about it, and gel toes always look amazing (plus they last forever. My go-to colour? Jet Black.

Yes, even in summer. I know it’s not exactly “seasonal,” but I just love how strong and bold it looks. I wear it all year round, on summer holidays, to Christmas parties, in sandals, boots and heels. There’s something about black toenails that makes me feel like I’ve got my life together… even when, on occasion, I absolutely don’t!

I love to have black on my fingernails too – keeping the theme going! But if you’re after something a bit more creative, Sophie and Taylor are your go-to girls for nail art (see the pic!). I like to think black is my signature look – low-key fierce, even in flip flops 😂

A little heads-up☀️
Summer is one of our busiest times at the salon, and we will always try to make sure you get the appointments you want, when you want them.

Whether you’re planning for holidays, special occasions, or just a well-earned bit of pampering, booking ahead means we can reserve your ideal slot. You can book online anytime, super quickly and easily, and it means you’ll secure your preferred slot before things get snapped up.

Until next time…
As always, thank you so much for reading and for being part of the Icon family. Whether you pop in every month or just now and then, it means the world to us. Here’s to bright weather, black toenails, surprise garden cats, and summer holidays on the horizon.

Never a dull day here, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Hope to see you in the salon soon!

Lots of love, Lucy x
