Icon Beauty Turns 16!

Icon Beauty is 16!
I can’t quite believe it, and it doesn’t feel like more than 5 minutes ago we were 10 years old! As the business celebrates its 16th birthday, I find myself reflecting on what an amazing (and eventful) journey it has been.  It hardly feels possible that so much time has passed since opening the salon, yet here we are, stronger, busier, and I’m more passionate than ever. None of this would have been possible without the loyalty, trust, and continued support of you, our wonderful clients. I feel really fortunate to have shared so many milestones, stories, and moments with you over the years. From the very beginning, my goal has been to create a welcoming space where people can relax, feel cared for, and uplifted, and I am deeply grateful to everyone who has helped make that vision a reality. As I look back, I feel so grateful, and I’m also looking forward with more motivation than ever (especially as my favourite season of the year is just around the corner…)

Bodybuilding Update
People quite often ask me if I have started training again, and it’s an easy one for me to answer, as I’ve never stopped. Yes, I’m definitely still training to compete, and I haven’t taken any breaks from this. It’s never a chore, it’s my passion and my lifestyle. When you genuinely love something, discipline isn’t a struggle; it just becomes second nature. Bodybuilding is quite complex, and at the moment I’m entering my diet phase and preparing for the stage in early 2026. For over a year, I’ve been in an improvement phase, building size, adding muscle and laying the foundation. Now it’s about the next challenge: stripping back the weight while holding on to every ounce of new muscle. This process takes patience and time and can’t be rushed. Bodybuilding definitely isn’t about quick fixes! It’s about committing to the long game and showing up every single day. It’s just as well I LOVE the gym!

Fuel & Music
Right now, I’m on a high-protein, low-carb, low-fat plan. On training days, I’m eating around 1,700 calories, and on rest days it drops to about 1,500. That’s spread across six meals a day, plus plenty of water – four litres to be exact! Routine definitely makes it easier and my body runs well on structure, but I do still get hungry!

Training-wise, my week includes four 75-minute weight sessions (a mix of lower body, upper body, and abs), plus five fasted 45-minute sessions on the stair master (not exactly my favourite, I’ll admit!) One thing that always keeps me going is music. I can’t train without it. My gym playlist is full of upbeat dance and house mixes, AI DJ on Spotify, old-school Prodigy and Busta Rhymes, and newer stuff like Chase & Status and Becky Hill.

 Get Christmas-Ready
It may feel early to mention Christmas, but the festive season always arrives faster than we think! December is one of our busiest times of the year, and appointments fill up quickly. To make sure you look and feel your best for the celebrations, we encourage you to book your treatments in advance. By securing your spot early, you can relax knowing your self-care is taken care of and avoid the last-minute rush.

That’s All for Now
You may have spotted that this week that the salon’s had some brand new window art (omg it is so colourful and cosy!) I honestly don’t know how Bex comes up with so many beautiful designs. Thank you!

Anyway, I hope you are all well and enjoying some of this lovely sunshine and I’ll look forward to seeing you soon.

Lots of love,
Lucy x
