Somehow, we’ve made it to mid-December already, the time of year when every day feels a bit sparkly but slightly chaotic (in the best possible way!) The salon is full of ‘plans for Christmas’ conversations, and I absolutely love it. Between our crazy seasonal schedule, I’ve managed to sneak out for a few delicious meals (my weekly treat!), so I thought I’d share the places I can’t stop talking about right now in case you feel like trying any of them out…(I’d make a good restaurant guide!)
Eating Out in My Off-Season
When I’m not deep in prep for bodybuilding shows, I love making the most of my one weekly off-plan meal. It really makes eating out feel special, and I appreciate every flavour so much more after all the chicken salads and porridge!
Right now, these are the places I can’t stop talking about…
- The Shakespeare– My absolute go-to for a Sunday roast. You honestly can’t beat it! If I had to choose one favourite meal out, this would be it.
- Pasture– Perfect for special occasions. The food is incredible, and it’s the ideal excuse to dress up and enjoy a proper night out.
- Bosco– Amazing for a relaxed catch-up with friends… and their tiramisu? Truly the best in the world.
- Kal Doşa (Gloucester Rd) – My current local favourite. Their dosas are incredible and totally worth the hype.
We’re so lucky to have so many fantastic independent restaurants on Gloucester Road. I’m excited to keep exploring and finding more hidden gems!
Even in my off-season, I’m limited to just one off-plan meal a week (and none at all when I’m dieting), so being able to enjoy a meal out feels like such a treat. The flavours, the variety, the company… It’s all so different from the strict day-to-day routine, and it makes the experience even more meaningful. Being disciplined year-round definitely makes meals out feel extra special. I’m so grateful for the chance to enjoy great food and spend quality time with friends and family.
Korean Lash Lift
The Korean Lash Lift is fast becoming a salon favourite, but one of our clients, the gorgeous Amelia, sums it up far better than we can. Here’s her experience…
“I recently had a Korean Lash Lift at Icon Beauty and I’m obsessed! It’s so much gentler on my lashes than a standard LVL, but the results are even better. My lashes look healthier, longer and so lifted, it makes me look instantly awake. I’ve barely worn mascara since because I just don’t need it day to day. The lift lasts ages too! I’m so impressed and never go anywhere else for my lashes”.
A Little Penguin Magic
Our new Winter Window really pulls on the heartstrings; it’s just so beautiful. Inspired by penguins who find their mate and stay together for life, this year’s festive display is a little tribute to lasting love. It’s also a gentle reminder of the loyalty, warmth, and connection that mean so much at this time of year. @bexx_artist, we don’t know how you manage to channel so much thought and feeling into an illustration but thank you! Seeing this every day is wonderful.

As we head into the final stretch before the big day, I just want to say a genuine thank you for trusting us with your treatments, your time, and your company this year. The season always reminds me how lucky I am to do what I love and to share it with such wonderful people.
